Meet The Team
Bekah Guile
Bekah is the Owner and Head Trainer at Spur Ridge Ranch. She graduated from William Woods University in 2021 with a Bachelor's in Equestrian Science and Equine Administration. She has experience in multiple different levels of competition from the fun show level through the World Show level. She has been teaching riding lessons for over 8 years. Bekah specializes in the Ranch and All-Around divisions and prides herself on a safe and all-inclusive learning environment.
Codey Guile
Codey, Bekah's husband, has assisted in owning and Operating Spur Ridge Ranch with Bekah since opening in 2021. He leads facility maintenance and care as well as assists in coaching and training at all horse shows and events that the team attends.
Trena Hoskins
Trena is the assistant trainer and comes to Spur Ridge Ranch with a background in Western All-Around events. As a youth, Trena rode Hunt Seat and then Dressage, and then transitioned to Western while attending William Woods University. Trena graduated from WWU in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Equine General Studies. Trena brings to the team a specific focus in growing confidence and critical thinking through positive experiences to develop horses and riders abilities and independence.
Zinger - 'SR Thats A Zinger'
Zinger is 2005, Half Arabian mare. Zinger holds MULTIPLE Championship Titles at the State Fair level with our lesson students. She teaches regular lessons at the ranch and takes students to horse shows. She excels in Western and Speed events. Zinger is arguably “the” barn favorite!
Freedom - 'Let Freedom Ring'
Freedom is a 2003, Quarter Horse mare. She teaches regular lessons at the ranch and takes students to horse shows. She excels in Ranch Riding and Western All Around Events. She has spent most of her life as a trail horse and lesson horse however, she has recently been competing at the circuit level and has done very well bringing home several titles.
Heidi - 'Highbrow Sweetheart'
Heidi is a 2020, Paint Horse mare. Heidi is the youngest member of our team. She is triple registered APHA, PtHA, & NSBA. She has been shown since she was a yearling and continues her training every day to become the next best lesson and show horse at the ranch. She is currently excelling in the Ranch All Around events and has begun her under-saddle show career earning herself; 2x Top Five, one Top Ten, 4x NSBA Top Five, one NSBA Top Ten titles at the Color Breed Congress.
Moses - 'Cool N Down'
Moses is a 2013, Quarter Horse Gelding. He is triple register AQHA, NSBA & PtHA and holds four Top Ten Pinto World Titles; 6x Top Five, 5x Top Ten, one NSBA Top 5 Youth Titles at the Color Breed Congress; One Champion Halter Title, and 2x Top Five Open Titles at the Color Breed Congress. Moses is ridden and shown by both coaches and lesson students and enjoys taking his riders to the next level.
Phantom - 'AM Phantom Dream'
Phantom is a 2005, Arabian Gelding. He one of the favorite lesson horses at the barn and competes in the Saddle Type all around events. Phantom is owned by Sarah Wilcox who graciously allows the ranch to use him in its lesson program. Phantom has competed in many 4H and Circuit level shows and has been awarded many titles over the years. He is truly an "all around" good boy!
Ellie - 'Cokers Midday Mist'
Ellie is a 2004, Missouri Fox Trotter. Ellie is a spunky little lesson horse at the ranch. Loved by the kids for her sassy energy. She can gate out at a good pace or enjoy a nice lazy walk. She enjoys trail rides and treats more than anything! She also attends local shows with the team, taking beginner students to their first horse shows!
Buttons - 'Dont Push My Buttons'
Buttons is a 2022, Appaloosa registered with the PtHA association. Buttons is fairly new to our program and is still in her "training" process. She is learning and growing every day and is doing limited lessons for advanced riders. Buttons has started her show career in the Ranch all around division and we are excited to continue to watch her grow!
JoJo (Left) & Patriot (Right)
JoJo and Patriot are the newest two additions to our lesson horse string. JoJo is a 2012 and Patriot is a 2005, both are American Quarter Horses. These lovely geldings were donated by Debbie & Glenn Farris. While we are still getting to know the two horses, they are already becoming well-loved and fit in as if they have always lived here! We cannot wait to get them in the show pen, track down the trails, and use them in our lesson program!
Lilly - 'Silver Blossom'
Lilly is a 2001 Tennessee Walking Horse. Lilly is one of the ranches seasoned lesson horses. She is the “grandma” on the farm, loved by many! Most recently, Lilly has gotten a break from teaching and is currently enjoying retirement as a pretty pasture ornament, receiving lots of love and treats!
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne is a 2013, Miniature Horse gelding. Wayne is the smallest member of our team with the biggest heart! Wayne has a lot of talent for such a little guy. Not only is he broke to ride, but he also is broke to pull a cart and to jump! He LOVES treats and the attention from all of our smallest lesson kiddos.
